Product Details

The Relish Coloring Book is a therapeutic coloring activity designed for people living with early to mid-stage dementia or Alzheimer's. Each of the 27 age-appropriate images has been selected to spark conversation, stories, and memories, making it as much a social activity as a creative one.

A colored reference image in the corner of each page guides the user without removing the sense of personal choice. The activity supports dexterity, a sense of achievement, and personal identity through the act of completing and personalizing each image. Simple enough to pick up at any time, with no setup or instructions required.

Coloring crayons are not included.

  • The Relish Coloring Book is suitable for people living with early to mid-stage dementia or Alzheimer's who benefit from calm, structured creative activities.
  • The Relish Coloring Book is suitable for caregivers looking for a simple, no-prep activity that encourages conversation and a sense of accomplishment.
  • The Relish Coloring Book is suitable for people who enjoyed art, drawing, or coloring earlier in life and would welcome a familiar, personally meaningful activity.

Creative activities like coloring offer several overlapping benefits for people living with dementia: they support dexterity, encourage focus, and provide a tangible sense of completion and pride. But most coloring books are not designed with older adults in mind, and the wrong imagery or difficulty level can quickly turn a calming activity into a frustrating one.

Relish was founded specifically to address this gap. The company grew out of founder Ben Atkinson-Willes' personal experience supporting his grandfather through Alzheimer's, and that origin shows in the thoughtfulness of the design. The age-appropriate imagery, the colored corner guides, and the conversation-starting themes all reflect a product built around the real needs of people living with dementia and the caregivers who support them. It is one of the more quietly effective activity tools available, requiring nothing more than a set of crayons to get started.

Intéressant, facile pour mon conjoint de savoir quelle couleur utiliser.

I bought both versions of this book. The images are simple, and it's great to already have a suggestion of colors to use, with the mini-drawing reproduced at the bottom of the page. No time is wasted with doubts and indecisions. The activity is simply fun. A great activity. She sits in the sun on the veranda of the residence, chatting and having a snack.

It’s a brilliant idea. This activity can trigger happy memories or at least a spark in their eyes

I'm always looking for activities that my mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, can do when she's alone. She used to have coloring books, but no longer enjoyed this activity, because, in her words, it was “too difficult to choose the colors so that the drawing always looks good at the end”. But with this book, problem solved! When we visit her, we add her name and the date at the top of the page, to help her remember that it was she who colored the picture. It's also a great activity to do together, while chatting!
