The Idem digital clock is specifically designed for people living with dementia and their caregivers. It shows the time, date, day of the week, and moment of the day on a large and easy-to-read display.

This innovative clock also serves as a reliable companion for someone living with dementia, offering clear information. With the Idem Companion App, caregivers can seamlessly manage the clock's features from their smartphones or tablets. Caregivers can send, manage, and keep track of reminders, messages, notes, and upcoming events featured on the clock in real-time.

Two options are available.

The Idem clock can be connected to the Internet either by:

  • Connecting the clock to a private Wi-Fi network (no subscription required).
  • Opting for a monthly ($9/month) or annual ($99/year - save $10) subscription to the mobile connection offered by Idem (The SIM card is already included and installed).

You can choose to opt-in or cancel your subscription at any time. After receiving the clock, you will be prompted to select your connectivity preference from the Idem companion app.

* The Idem clock does not function when connected to a public Wi-Fi network. Public Wi-Fi networks are commonly found in hotels and are identifiable by the requirement for entering a password or room number in a separate window from the device's Wi-Fi settings. Public Wi-Fi networks provide occasional internet access for visitors, but they are not suitable for the use of a connected object like the Idem clock. In this case, we recommend subscribing to the mobile connectivity service offered by Idem.

  1. Download the Idem companion app on a phone and/or tablet (available for Android and iOS) and create your account.
  2. Plug the Idem clock into an electrical outlet (and connect the clock to the Wi-Fi (no Wi-Fi setup needed if using the SIM card mobility plan).
  3. Link the clock to your Idem companion app by entering the provided activation code.
  4. Introduce the clock to your loved one. (Read Idem’s tips!)

The Idem clock has a battery life of 6 to 8 hours depending on it’s usage. It requires to be plugged in an outlet for ongoing use.

Language Options for Display
The Idem Smart Calendar Clock display and read out loud feature are available in English,Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Greek, Dutch, German, Filipino, Vietnamese and French. However, the personalized communications (messages, notes…) can be in any language, you can even use emojis!

App and Settings Management
Please note that the mobile app and settings management on the clock are currently available only in English and French.

Multiple users (unlimited amount) can be created in order to share and coordinate tasks among caregivers and create a supportive network.

The companion App is for family caregivers. It's free, and is available for Apple and Android phones and tablets.

At the same time, the clock can display either: a) two events, b) two notes, c) one event and one note, or d) two events and one note.
