Lumeen VR
An immersive virtual reality system developed for care environments.
Help your residents go beyond the room.
Built around the realities of care
Immersive VR can do more than open up new places. It can create moments of connection, bring calm when the day feels difficult, and give residents something else to focus on during care.
Launches within minutes
Lightweight and easy to adjust, even over eyeglasses.
One tablet, multiple headsets
Control multiple headsets, and see what residents are seeing, from one tablet.
150+ immersive experiences
Travel, nature and relaxation: all designed with and for caregivers and residents.
Core experiences without wifi
Portable 1-headset, 3-headset or 6-headset kits with tablet and carrying case.
More places to go. Without more logistics.
Outings take staffing, transportation and planning — and not every resident can take part.
Lumeen brings the experience to them instead, making it easier to create meaningful moments from a resident’s room to a group activity.
More than somewhere to go.
MORE TO EXPERIENCE
Residents can visit Paris, swim with dolphins, or return to somewhere familiar — all without leaving the community.
A CHANGE OF FOCUS
Give residents something else to focus on during uncomfortable or difficult care moments.
MORE CONNECTION
Create shared experiences that spark conversation between residents, staff and families, while caregivers follow along from the tablet.
A MOMENT OF CALM
Offer residents a quiet place to focus when the day feels overwhelming.
“We've seen a positive effect on our clientele. Especially those who have anxiety and visual impairment.”

One system, more opportunities to connect
From group programming to bedside, family visits and care moments, Lumeen moves with your team throughout the day — including synchronized experiences across multiple headsets from one tablet.

The story and the research behind Lumeen
What started as a gift for a bedreidden grandmother now brightens the day of thousands of people.
Lumeen began in 2019, when brothers Corentin and Robin Metgy wanted to give their grandmother, bedridden in a nursing home, a few moments of escape. The result is a tool built not around technology for its own sake, but around the person wearing the headset.
That care shows up in the evidence, too. Nearly 30 years of research support virtual reality as a gentle way to ease pain, anxiety, and low mood, without leaning on medication. Lumeen's own studies, carried out with real residents in real nursing homes, echo the same story: less apathy, less pain, more positive interactions, and a lighter load for the caregivers supporting them.
Today, Lumeen is part of daily life in more than 900 care communities, across five countries.
FAQs
Lumeen is suitable older adults and people living with dementia or other cognitive disorders. Care teams use it in residential communities and hospitals, and families use it at home too.
The tablet shows exactly what the resident is seeing and lets the caregiver adjust the intensity as they go, so it's always a shared moment, never something a resident experiences alone.
It comes down to knowing the person. A caregiver picks a program and a scene based on what will bring comfort or joy in that moment, whether that's a familiar place, a calming scene, or an upbeat little adventure, and can adjust the intensity as the visit unfolds.
Just the Lumeen headset and its tablet. There's no wiring or internet connection to fuss with, and a session can start in under 10 seconds.
Rather than relying on medication, Lumeen offers a gentle redirection: a calming scene, a familiar memory, a soft distraction from what's hard in the moment. In Lumeen's own studies, this showed up as less apathy and more warm, positive interaction among residents.
Yes, and it's often at its best that way. The tablet can connect to several headsets at once, or be cast to a television so a whole room can share the experience together.
Not really. The tablet is simple enough for any caregiver to pick up. That said, Eugeria offers training built around each community, along with ongoing support by email and phone as necessary.
Numerous international clinical studies have demonstrated good acceptability and tolerance of the helmet in people living with cognitive decline. This was confirmed through a randomized clinical trial by AP-HP (Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris), which showed an acceptance rate of over 96% in seniors with severe dementia.
We offer two formats: 1-headset and 3-headset. Each format comes with one caregiver tablet and a carrying case.
Our VR helmets feature silicone and synthetic leather straps and facial contact surfaces. These comfortable materials are non-absorbent and easy to disinfect using a disinfecting wipe.
