Montreal, QC / Portland, ME — Eugeria (eugeria.care), a leader in solutions for people living with dementia, their caregivers and caregiving professionals, announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Memory Lane TV (memory-lane.tv) covering Canada and the United States. This initiative aims to strengthen the reach of this unique care solution to families as well as care communities.

A specialized alternative to regular TV

Developed specifically around the cognitive and emotional needs of people living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, Memory Lane TV differs from regular television programming in 2 major ways. First, the absence of plot- and character-dependent stories responds to the specific challenges of memory loss. Second, the filmed content is created intentionally, from subject matter to editing speed, to support varied needs from relaxation to reminiscence, along with supporting daily rhythm with time-of-day programming.

The result is a streaming platform that provides 24/7 programming designed not to entertain in the conventional sense, but to soothe, stimulate, redirect and reconnect. The content remains rich and varied: music, nature imagery, guided reminiscence, and carefully crafted sensory experiences, all backed by more than 50 years of published medical research.

It all started with Rosette

Memory Lane TV was born from a deeply personal experience. Alban Maino, a Franco-American documentary filmmaker based in Portland, Maine, found himself searching for something — anything — to help his grandmother Rosette when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

That search set Maino on a years-long journey through published neuroscience, sensory stimulation research, and memory care practice. Drawing on his filmmaking background and the growing body of evidence around multi-sensory intervention, he developed what would become Memory Lane TV, launching in 2022 after several years of development and clinical testing in residential care settings across Europe and New England. In 2024, Maino was named a Memory Care Innovation Award winner by Behavioral Health Business, recognized by his peers for his commitment to person-centered care.

"When my grandmother, Rosette, was affected by Alzheimer's, I searched and searched for a tool, a medicine, something to help manage her symptoms, but found there were no effective options available. I delved into the published research, and slowly discovered decades of investigations into sensory stimulation and memory. Eventually I was able to leverage my media background and construct some sensory stimulation tools based on that research that helped with my grandmother's symptoms. This was the genesis of Memory Lane TV."

The Eugeria advantage: reaching more people, improving more lives

By entering an exclusive distribution partnership with Eugeria, Memory Lane TV gains access to a dedicated team of professionals focused on improving the lives of people living with dementia and their caregivers, both at home and in care communities. Founded in 2018, Eugeria curates and develops solutions that are person-centered and backed by research. Known in care communities as the North American distributor of the Tovertafel interactive system as well as the Crdl musical care instrument, Eugeria’s addition of Memory Lane TV to their distribution portfolio allows them to present a more rounded offering to respond to stimulation, appeasement and redirection needs of seniors living in care facilities.

"We try to make sure that we cover all of the stages. While at the beginning of dementia, we are aware of memory loss and need compensation, later on we need more stimulation, relaxation and reminiscence. While it was originally believed that if a person was agitated, they were over-stimulated, we now know that under-stimulation might actually be the cause. We offer solutions that respond to this need and make a real difference in people’s lives."

— Valérie Larochelle, Co-Founder & CEO, Eugeria
